Biography for Benton
T. Hines
After
attending Business School at Purdue University, Benton Hines
began his career as a Naval Aviator, assigned to VAQ-33 / U.S.S.
Kitty Hawk as an F-4 Plane Captain.
After a tour of Southeast Asia and the Caribbean he
received an Honorable Discharge, awarded with the Vietnam
Service and Meritorious Unit Commendation Medals.
After
serving in the Navy, Mr. Hines worked for Inland Steel Company
as a Department Supervisor.
In 1986, Mr. Hines began working for IHM Facility
Services as a Supervisor. He has had several promotions, to Manager, Engineering
Manager, Support Services Manager, Resource Manager, and
finally, New Business Development Manager.
Assignments while working for IHM have included LTV Steel
Company, Ford Motor Company, Sony Digital Audio Disc
Corporation, Procter & Gamble, Delphi Electronics, Thomson
Multimedia, and Rolls Royce.
Throughout his twenty-year career with IHM Facility
Services, Mr. Hines has contributed to these customers a collective, documented savings of almost $20,000,000.
The automotive segments of these assignments realized an
average improvement of 31% through documented SPC Audits.
After
receiving a diploma in Food Hygiene & Safety from the Royal
Institute of Public Health & Hygiene, Guelph University in
Ontario, Canada, Mr. Hines’ role evolved into the New Business
Development Manager. This
led to the development of ISO
9001 processes for manufacturing and food processing facilities
and eventually transitioned into the added responsibility of
Management Representative for the company’s ISO 9001 quality
program, including the development of safety programs, federal
& state compliance, and equipment, product, & process
development.
He has had
several recognitions throughout his career which include “2005
Delphi Excellence in Action Award Winner”, Judge
Advocate of Indiana V.F.W. Post 909, past member of the
Management Advisory Board for the Department of Interior, and
co-authoring the technical manual “Cleaning Clean-rooms”
for General Motors, Delco Electronics.
